I can hardly believe that it was only just over three weeks ago that we actually decided to follow the lines of one of our favourite quotes: Take the first step in faith...We've come so far in so little time and it's all seemed ...well ... pretty easy!!! Not that it hasn't involved a heck of a lot of effort but there have been few bumps in the road ~ with the notable exception of Cleveland State School's announcement to hold their Under 8's day on June 1st resulting in a change of date for us. We've jumped that obstacle and hope it didn't cause too much inconvenience. Otherwise, our family life has carried on pretty much as usual with all the hectic joys of children and we've remained (relatively) sane.
The generosity and kindness of the businesses we've approached for support has been truly astounding! TRULY. Of all the phone calls I've made, can you believe I haven't received one 'NO' in response. Not a single 'nada'.
And so overwhelmed have we been with your enthusiasm that yesterday, when the Bayside Bulletin called out of the blue and started asking details about our event, I found myself saying:
"We've decided that we don't actually need to pay for advertising" .
He then informed me that this was for an article they were writing ... Huh??? ... A little article, he stressed, but an article nonetheless. I couldn't hear him well and he couldn't quite grasp the concepts so it will be interesting to see what appears in the paper next week. We'll share a chuckle regardless ... this is such a fun ride!
There are so many exciting developments that I'm jumping out of my skin to tell you about; ask your opinion on ... but opening my mouth prematurely is something I have a problem with ... so, in the interests of attempting 'professionalism' ... I'll stay mum on matters until they're set in stone. Our little network is fairly jiving though and we'll happily share with you as things progress.
I guess that ~ I know that ~ the passion we feel for this special project of ours is why the path has seemed so smooth. When you're happy doing what you're doing and open enough to allow for natural progression, it all seems to grow so organically and rich. Whether our first Morning Tea has attendance of 5 or 50, we will have gained so much already.
Can't wait to see what the next step brings!
